TAUNTON Town's scheduled league clash with Merthyr Town at Wordsworth Drive last night was postponed because of a floodlight failure.

The lights on the two pylons closest to the Town end would not illuminate despite the best efforts of an electrician.

The referee delayed kick-off to allow time for the problem to be fixed but Taunton were forced to admit defeat and the game was called off just before 8.30pm.
