SOMERSET held their nerve to beat Warwickshire by ten runs in the Friends Life t20 last night and secure a place in the quarter finals.
The Cidermen posted an imposing 175-5 in their final group game at Edgbaston, Craig Kieswetter leading the way with 76.
And when Warwickshire's required run-rate shot up to nearly 12 with eight overs left the match looked as good as over.
But veteran Darren Maddy (67 not) and Laurie Evans (51) kept the Bears in contention as they entered the last two overs with 22 needed and both men going well.
Fortunately for Somerset, Alfonso Thomas and Yasir Arafat drew on all their experience to produce two tidy overs and clinch victory.
