FOOTBALL: Bryant missing for Wellington clash
1:34pm Thursday 29th August 2013 in Sport
WELLINGTON have a re-arranged game at Almondsbury in division one of the Toolstation league on Saturday (3pm).
The Tangerines were due to be without a match because of FA Cup preliminary round matches.
Mike Hawes’ side go into the fixture with plenty of confidence behind them having won two of their three opening games.
Hawes said: “So far things have gone reasonably well and to be honest we are ahead of where we expected to be, especially as the team has changed quite a bit.
“We have also integrated the first team with the reserves in training which which hopefull improve club spirit.”
Wellington should be pretty much at full strength with the exception of 18-year-old striker Conor Bryant.
Bryant has made a good impression to date, scoring at Wells and adding another brace for the reserves on Monday.
But he injured his knee at work on Tuesday and could be out for a few weeks.
Wellington will have to wait until September 14 for their first home game of the season because the ground is shared with the cricket club.
That match will be against Roman Glass St George.
On Saturday, September 7 they visit Corsham Town then four days later they are away to Ashton and Backwell United.
