ANDY Rooker made an excellent start to the Four Seasons Challenge when he won the Winter Meeting at Padbrook Park.
He scored 41 stableford points thanks to a back nine which included three birides. He finished five points ahead of Chris Senik. The overall winner will be the player who performs best in four seasonal meetings through the year.
Winter Meeting: 1 A Rooker 41pts, 2 C Senik 36, 3 S Palmer 36, 4 T Evans 35, 5 G Stevenson 35, 6 P Knight 35, 7 G Parker 34, 8 T Martin 33.
Gary Stevenson parred the last two holes to edge victory in the February stableford. His score of 36 points beat Sam Palmer and Curtis Edwards by one point.
February stableford: 1 G Stevenson 36pts, 2 S Palmer 35, 3 C Edwards 35, 4 A Held 34, 5 D Turner 33, 6 M Want 32, 7 A Pym 32, 8 B Colbourne 31.
Padbrook will face a local derby in round two of the Daily Mail Classic. They have been drawn to play away at Tiverton.
