CREDITON’S Jack Stevens currently leads the ratings by 52 points in the junior section of the Phoenix Tools Premier motocross championships.
And he is now gearing up for round four of the championships being held at Little Silver Moto Parc in Exeter on June 1.
Stevens, who is 18, went into round three, held at Crediton Raceway, with just a three point lead in the standings.
Cheered on by plenty of local support, Stevens began the day with third place in the opening race.
He followed that up with a second and then a win to take a firm grip on the championship.
In the Experts category there was local interest in the shape of Alex Snow from Tiverton who won one race, and finished second in the other two.
Unfortunately the day’s honours went to Jake Shipton from Dorset with two wins and a second.
