WELLINGTON firsts and seconds begin their 2014/15 campaign with three pre-season friendlies against local opposition.

On August 16 Wellington visit Weston Hornets whose first team have just been promoted into National League 3 (South West) so they can expect a very stern test.

Hornet’s second team play in the same league as Wellington’s where they finished third after a slow start to the season.

On August 23 Wellington entertain Frome whose first team play in Southern Counties South – the same level as Wellington.

The seconds play in Dorset and Wilts 1 South.

The fixtures are a repeat of pre-season matches played two seasons ago when Wellington recorded wins in both matches.

The third friendly is at home to Winscombe on August 30.

Winscombe first team play in the notoriously tough Somerset Premier League with the seconds play in Somerset 2 (N).

All three matches will give every player an opportunity to impress and stake a claim for a first team spot in the forthcoming season.
