TAUNTON Deane Blades Fencing Club Junior Championships were fought at the new venue of Kings Hall School with the finals being a tense contest between Gabby Sully Dunbar and club-mate Milo Cashen.
Both made a terrific display of the technique and talent they have shown over the last year but finally the more experienced Cashen took the lead in a narrow win in the second half.
A delighted Cashen received the yearly cup and gold medal with Sully Dunbar receiving a well deserved silver.
The winner of this year’s Plate competition for younger members of the club was won by Cobb Geraghty.
The club re-opens on Wednesday, September 10 with the Beginners Course starting for juniors (5.45-7pm) at £4 a session with all equipment provided and seniors (7.15-9pm). The venue is King’s Hall School gym Kingston Road.
