TAUNTON Town look to bounce back from Tuesday’s defeat at Shortwood United when they play a re-arranged Southern League fixture at the Viridor Stadium against Larkhall Athletic on Saturday (3pm).

The game has been brought forward from next Tuesday, (November 4), as both sides were otherwise faced with a blank weekend due to their early exits from the FA Trophy.

League newcomers Larkhall who were promoted after winning the Western League title last season have made a confident start to life at the higher level and lie in fifth place, one slot and one point beneath Town with a game in hand.

The Peacocks should have a full squad available apart from injury victims Rob Norrish and Rodney Marsh.

Taunton Town Under 18s gained a 2-1 victory over Wellington Under 18s in the 2nd round of the Roger Stone Memorial Cup last Thursday at the Viridor Stadium.

After a goal-less first half, Matt Trump scored the opener one minute into the second period before adding another with a skilful finish on 65 minutes.

Wellington pulled a goal back ten minutes later but Town comfortably saw out the game.

The Peacocks face two Somerset Floodlight Youth League away games in the next week.

Tonight (Thursday) they are in derby action at Bridgwater Town, kick-off 7.45pm, and then on Tuesday they travel to Chard Town, kick-off 7.30pm.
