THE Yellow Ball competition at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club saw 29 teams of four playing in the wonderful late autumn conditions.

At the end of the day first place went to Nat Pepperall, Richie Barker, Chris Maggs and Stuart Sully with a combined score of 145 points.

Ivan Clare, Ian Clare, Mike Robinson and Peter Darch were second with 144 points, Phil King, Chris Doyle, Gary Burtonwood and Alan Itter were third with 140 and Pete Scarratt, Steve Sloman, Jason Brock and Andy Avis were fourth with 139.

On Tuesday, more than 40 T&P Ladies braved the cool winds and heavy showers in the annual ‘Guy Fawkes’ Stableford-With-A-Twist competition at. With bonus points available for single putts and the loss of all points on any hole in which your ball was bunkered, it was very difficult to predict a winning score. But nobody got remotely near the outstanding return of Carol Keenan who was a clear winner with 56 points and a most impressive nett score of 66, which should ensure she features in the discussions at the forthcoming Annual Handicap Review.
