TAUNTON Town, who are without a game this weekend, return to action on Tuesday evening when they continue their defence of the Somerset Premier Cup.

The Peacocks are due to visit Western League Division One side Keynsham Town, kick-off 7.45pm. The Peacocks hope to welcome back Rodney Marsh who has been injured for several weeks and may also have a new signing in the squad.

Taunton Town Under 18s have suffered two narrow defeats in the Somerset Floodlight Youth League during the past week.

Last Thursday they went down to a 2-1 reverse at Bridgwater Town, falling behind after 12 minutes but drawing level ten minutes before half time through Jack Hobbs.

Both sides had chances after the break but it was Bridgwater who grabbed the winner on 79 minutes.

Then on Tuesday the Peacocks lost 4-3 at Chard Town despite a spirited fightback after being 3-0 down at the interval. Max Dyer began the revival seven minutes into the second half and when Lewis Waldy fired home from Dyer’s cross Town were right back in it.

Jack Hobbs then completed the comeback when he slotted in a Kieran Barrance centre on 69 minutes but Chard then snatched the winner with just over ten minutes to go.
