DOMINIC Taylor was first home in the Longrun Meadow parkrun on Saturday in a time of 17 minutes exactly – a personal best.

Second was Dan Clarke only 30 seconds behind and third man was Daniel Miles.

On the 50th anniversary of Winston Churchill’s anniversary there were 294 runners.

Despite large muddy puddles 62 runners recorded bests and there were 59 first timers.

First Lady home today was Hannah Taunton – only two more races and she hits her 50.

Second wwas Caroline Norris and third Jill Harrison..

In the Under 10 group first boy was Tom Newman 27:29, second Rufus W-P 27:39 and third Ned Ogilvie 27:49.

First girl was Madeline Fear 30:44, second Ruby Haines 34:01 and third Florence Tibbs.

Runners who gained their 10 T-shirts were Mollie Hutchings and Isabelle Priddle.

Among those gaining personal bests were Josh Abbot, Stephen R.Dyke, Tom Higham, Duncan Gordon, Connie Baker, Simon Hiscock, Emma Gribble and Thomas Hasler.

Hasler also gained his 50th T Shirt.

On a cold day the flat course offered personal best opportunities for the 25 representatives from the Club.

Marathon and Ultra runner Richard Staunton stepped down in distance to lead the Club home in 44m24s.

He was followed by Damon Butler (47m44s), Adrian Male (48m1s), Dave Loader (48m1m), Pat Date (48m54s), Gordon Duncan (49m36s), Paul Thomas (49m58s), Karen Monteiro (50m2s, pb), Malcolm Hutchings (50m41s), Liz Latchford (51m25s), Kevin Willcocks (54m47s), Goff Welchman (56m16s), Eliza Brodie (59m14s), Claire Allison (1h36s), Liz Williams (1h47s), Nadine Prouse (1h2m4s), Rob Murr (1h2m10s), Alison Wasey (1h3m46s, pb), Kirsti Nelson (1h5m14s), Louise Wonnacott (1h7m5s), Cathie Welchman (1h7m41s), Pat Pike (1h8m9s), Peter Stretton (1h9m15s), Linda Forsyth (1h9m59s) and Kate MacKenzie (1h13m49s).

Further afield, at the Hyde Park 10K in London, Sophie Wade represented the Club for the first time and performed well to finish in a personal best of 49m22s.

Club chairman, Rowland Lyons, was the only Hydro Harriers in race action last weekend.

Lyons completed the Valentines Park 5k Parkrun in 29:46 claiming 110th place out of 226.
