Leaders Alcombe Rovers rec-orded their 11th victory of the season in Division Two with a 2-1 win over Westonzoyland.

The three points were secured with goals by Andrew Land and Chris Newbold.

Milverton Rangers moved up to second place with a 4-1 win over Watchet reserves. Craig Plumridge led the way with two goals, Brien Cosgrove and Sam Godfrey added one each with Danny Williams replying for Watchet.

Division One WITH Leaders Bridgwater Sports inactive, Locomotives the chance to use up one of their games in hand and close the gap and they did it in some style. Locos notched within ten minutes against Tone Youth and that was the score at half time, Ryan Vickery on target.

In the second half Locos stepped up the pace and added a further eight goals. Dean Quinn scored three, James Weaver two, with Tom Edwards and Ed Frampton adding one each with Tone providing an own goal. North Petherton started well against Bishops Lydeard reserves with a 30 yard free kick from Lewis Irish opening the scoring.

Lydeard hit back through Adam Watson to go in 1-1 at half time.

Shane Jolly knocked in the winner for Pethy after great play from Scott Harman for a 2-1 result. Staplegrove reserves and Middle-zoy Reserves battled hard in the first half but neither side could break the deadlock. Early in the second period Groves skipper Ryan Oaten kicked the studs of a Rovers striker in a 50:50 challenge which left him injured and having to be subbed.

That resulted in a change of formation by Staplegrove which Mid-dlezoy reacted well to and took the lead.

Staplegrove equalised not long after when Adam Smith put a lovely ball into the box which Howard Radford couldn't miss to make it 1-1.

Grove then conceded two sloppy goals from defensive errors to make it 1-3. A late free kick from Russell Nightingale was converted to make it 2-3 and a couple late chances from grove nearly earned them a point.

But Middlezoy hung on to take all 3 points.

Division Three Bridgwater Sports reserves had a convincing 7-2 home win over Alcombe Rovers reserves whose scorers were Jack Bodley and Dan Munroe.

Woolavington dominated the early stages of their match against Exmoor Rangers and quickly went 2-0 ahead. Jake Worrall of Exmoor got injured and this forced them into a substitution and a formation change which slowly brought them back into the game.

In the second half Dan Rice had a great chance to get one back for Rangers from five yards but he somehow managed to blaze it over.

Division Four It was a much better performance from Creech Cougars against North Petherton reserves.

They started to play football like they were at the start of the season, only conceding from a free kick which the wind swung in by James Baker. Then two goals from Ashley Grist and one from Aaron Sellick gave Creech a 3-1 victory.

Third and fourth placed sides Ash Rangers and Wiveliscombe could only be split by one goal scored by Ben Bartlett for Ash which moved his side to second place.

That goal relegated Staplegrove Colts to third after a 3-3 draw with Middlezoy Rovers Athletic. On target for Colts were Ian Bishop, Rob Sutton and Jason Quick.

Galmington Dragons reserves never really got going in an important match which would have seen them go ahead of opponents Williton with a win.

In a lacklustre first half they were unable to put any shape on the game and were hit by a breakaway goal from Robert Lockyer.

Substitutions early in the second period started to help the visitors create more but they never really troubled the Williton keeper.

And once Williton scored again through Aaron Blande with only five minutes to play it was game over.

Bridgwater Grasshopper beat Porlock reserves by the odd goal in seven scored in the last minute by Dan Saunders. Porlock fought hard and were unlucky not to get anything from the match. Their scorers were Dominic Healey, Chris Carr and Michael Norman all scored a goal each.

Division Five Bishops Lydeard Colts stay in touch in second place after their 4-1 win at North Curry.

Shane Hills hit a hat-trick with Harry Burston adding the fourth. Celtan Hyland replied for Curry.

Brad Walford scored all six goals for Bridgwater Wolves as they beat Fivehead 6-5.

Nether Stowey beat bottom side Norton Fitzwarren for whom Henry Edgerton scored.

Hamilton Athletic Foxes beat Morganians reserves 5-3. Kieran Shevlin scored three and Dan Bidgway with two, one of which was a cross from 20 yards which luckily went in off the post.
