AFTER the only game in Division One of the Keyline Sunday league, Ash Rangers moved up to third place after they won 6-3 at Wellington Warriors. Gary Mckiernan hit four and Joe Wilkinson two in a game played in tough conditions.

Both sides put on a great show with some outstanding goals.

After a tight first half, which ended 2-2, Ash took advantage of the slope, gained the initiative, and finally broke Wellington’s resistance.

The divisional cups accounted for the rest of the day’s action.

In the Keyline Cup, Princess Royal took control of Group A by winning their second game – a great 2-1 win at Tone Youth courtesy of two Jake Quick goals. Richard Collard scored for Tone.

Hamilton opened their campaign with a 2-1 win at Cotford, Martyn Hawkins and a late Luke Green winner helping them to three points.

In Group B Old Inn had a good 4-3 win at Bathpool and AFC Grove were awarded the points as DB United failed to raise a team against them.

Division Two teams contest the Mike Whitehead Cup.

In group A, AFC Dunster won 5-3 at Hamilton Reserves and Blue Park Rangers had a walkover against White Eagles.

There were two cracking games in Group B.

Wellington Warriors Reserves came back from 4-0 down to win 5-4 at North Curry, and Mariners drew 4-4 with Churchinford.

Ian Salter scored two, with Mark Oram and Jacob Smith adding one each for Mariners.

The Mike Stewart Cup is contested by Division Three clubs.

White Hart Albion won 7-3 at home to AEK Taunton. Chris Mckee hit three, Bobby Porter two and there was one each from Jamie Bidwell and Ryan Adlam.

Wanderers FC beat Williton Rangers 4-1.

In Group B Castlemoat beat Shepherds Thursday 4-1 and there was a good 5-3 away win for Wyvern at Trinity Rangers.
