AN extra-time winner from Andrew Land earned Alcombe Rovers a place in the final of the Rowbarton Cup at the expense of Staplegrove reserves.

First divison Grove took the lead lead through James Bryce after 20 minutes and that score was maintained until the break. Rovers equalised through Mike Bailey in the second half but neither side could force the winner in 90 minutes so the game went to extra time. Land then produced the crucial strike for Rovers to secure a place in the final against Locomotives.

Locomotives had a few players out for their second semi-final in consecutive weeks, this one against Bridgwater Sports. Locos went 1-0 up when Matty Pounde scored in the second half. Bridgwater made it 1-1 through Matt Fursland with 25 minutes left but player manager James Weaver scored a great header from a corner to make it 2-1.

Just to make sure, Pounde got his second to make it 3-1 and earn Locos their second cup final of the season. Division One There was only one game in this Division at it was between fourth and fifth Middlezoy Rovers Reserves against Sampford Blues and it was the away side that took all three points winning 2-0 with goals from Jack Kelly and Luke Lawrence which enabled them to close the gap but not overtake their opponents.

Division Two With neither of the top two sides playing it enabled the chasing pack to close the gap and it was Milverton who took the opportunity by beating Stogursey 2-1 and moving up to third.

It was a very slow start from Milverton conceding an early goal in the first half scored by Daniel Glover.

In the second half Milverton came out flying and scored early though Mike Radford to equalise.

Stogursey conceded for which Cy Rich converted for Milverton for a 2-1 lead and eventual win.

It was honours even at Minehead where they drew 2-2 with Dulverton Town. The game was a bit feisty as both sides end the game with just nine men each.

Dulverton thought they had won the game with goals from Toby Cottrell and Lewis Hough had given them a 2-1 lead.

Damion Redman replying for Minehead but Declan Green scored the equaliser in the last minute of the game.

The sides were level at the break but weren’t for much longer when Mark Blight climbed head and shoulders above everyone for a great header, to give Tone the lead. Woolavington levelled with ten minutes to go though Liam Neal but Mike Kearley then scored twice for Tone, the first a one on one and he finished off the game off with an incredible one two before rounding the keeper for a 3-1 win. Division Four Leaders Creech Cougars were held to a 2-2 draw by Wiveliscombe but stay top as they had an 11 point lead before the start of the game.

Andrew Davies and Roly Kirbride replied for Wivvy. Porlock were on top from the start against Galmington Dragons Reserves and had numerous chances before a simple finish from a long throw finally broke the Galmington defence with Micky Norman finishing. Galmington soaked up the pressure for the rest of the half and had Porlock wondering if they would rue their missed chances. However Porlock managed to kill the game early in the second half to go 3-0 ahead with another Norman strike and one from Martyn Hawkins.

Being three goals to the bad Dragons eventually found their shape and spirit and pulled one back through Luke Nicklin.

Shane Thompson and Rob Adams also scored for Grasshoppers.

Division Five The main contest in this division was between the two leading clubs namely The Gallery Reserves and Bishops Lydeard Colts. With neither side wanting to lose the game it turned into a bit of a stalemate with nobody being able to break the deadlock. Gallery did have two great chances with Jack Griffiths missing a open goal from five yards out and Scott Capel rattling the bar from a volley from 20 yards but neither team could put the ball in the back of the net to claim the three points.

Hamilton Athletic Foxes beat Norton Fitzwarren Reserves 4-2 thanks to two Darren Bonsall headers, a Jake Aird solo effort and a mazy run from Chris McKee ending in a glancing header. Henry Edgerton scored for Norton from open play and Lewis Coward converted from the penalty spot.
