LEADERS Tone Youth remain unbeaten in Division 1 of the Taunton & District Sunday League but were pushed all the way by Old Inn, writes Dave Whelan.

The first-half was dominated by the hosts and two goals from Adam Smith and one from Russell Nightingale gave them a comfortable three-goal interval lead.

Old Inn showed great character in the second half and hit back superbly to level at 3-3 but Tone struck the fatal blow when Paul Stimpson scored to give them a 4-3 win.

Hamilton continue to challenge, they only had a James Osborne goal to show for their efforts in the 1-0 win over Mariners.

A Dale Webber hat-trick helped Bathpool stay in touch; they beat Churchinford 4-1, James Garad scoring their other goal.

Ash Rangers won 6-2 at North Curry.

Ash dominated throughout but only held a 3-2 half-time lead against an under-strength Curry side who battled throughout.

Joe Wilkinson scored two, Gary Mckiernan, Scott Chidgey and Jack Wheeler added one each, there was also an own goal.

Joe Gratton and Matt Bawden replied for Curry.

In Division 2, Dunster lost their first game of the season as they went down 4-3 in the derby at home to Watchet.

The defeat cost them top spot as Taunton North take over, albeit on goal difference.

They had a comprehensive 7-1 win at Castlemoat. Tom Wadham continued his three-a-game ratio for the season with another hat-trick, Josh Champion equalled the feat and Ian Larcombe scored his first for the club.

Blue Park Rangers stay in the chasing pack after a 3-1 home success against Carhampton. James and Gareth Conway both scored with Ollie Tucker bagging the other.

Cotford Saints had an impressive 6-1 success at Shepherds Rest. Rob Pincott’s 35-yard screamer gave Shepherds something to remember the game for.

In Division 3, DB Old Boys enjoyed a 5-2 win at Sophie’s Ferrets; the win took them to within two points of the leaders.

Tom Swateridge and Tristian Hobbs Wright scored for the Ferrets.

White Hart Albion were held to a 2-2 draw at Trinity Rangers and stay third.

Northern Lions beat Hardly Athletic 5-2 and there was 2-1 away win for Phoenix All Stars against bottom club AFC Phoenix, Freddie Midgley and Ross Woodruff with the All Stars goals.
