TAUNTON Town will have to look to tomorrow's (Saturday) visit to Swindon Supermarine for their next opportunity to go top of the Southern League Division One S&W table following Tuesday’s frustrating postponement of the game with Banbury United, writes Kerry Miller.

The predicted stormy conditions duly arrived in the morning and the already heavy Wordsworth Drive playing surface was very soon rendered unplayable, and with the Oxfordshire opponents needing an early decision it was called off at lunchtime.

The grey and murky clouds did have a silverish lining as the Peacocks’ itinerary is not too crammed, with only a couple of Tuesday evening games to come, one of course being the now eagerly awaited home clash with neighbours Tiverton Town on February 9.

Manager Leigh Robinson was naturally eager for play, with his side on a roll of 14 matches unbeaten and his strikeforce of Lewis Powell and Jordan Rogers in red-hot form, but the wet weather intervened.
