TAUNTON Town manager, Leigh Robinson bemoaned ‘small margins’ after watching his side slip to a 1-0 defeat at Tiverton on Tuesday night.

Levi Landricombe curled home the winner midway through the second half to condemn the Peacocks to a first away defeat of the season, and Robinson admitted his side ‘were not at their best’ on the night.

He said: "It was a poor and very scrappy game which neither team really did enough to win.

“There were essentially only three moments in the game, their keeper (Joe Perry) making two good saves from Vealy's (Craig Veal) one-on-one in the first half and then from the last kick of the match, and then their brilliant goal out of nowhere to win it.

“Small margins that tonight have gone against us, not helped by us not being at our best.

“The positive is that not too much damage was done due to results elsewhere, but this places more emphasis on our game on Saturday now."

Taunton Town travel to Shortwood United on Saturday, before welcoming Tiverton Town to the Viridor on Tuesday night (April 12) for the return fixture.
