TAUNTON Town manager Leigh Robinson has urged his players not to dwell on Tuesday night's 2-0 defeat at Cinderford and instead turn their attentions to Saturday's trip Banbury and the play-offs that will follow.

Two second half goals from Ethan Moore saw Cinderford take the points and in doing so, the league title, and Robinson said the champions' consistency over the course of the season had been a telling factor in the race for promotion.

Robinson said: "It was always going to be the case tonight that the first goal would be even more crucial than normal and unfortunately we didn't manage to get in front during the first half when we were completely dominant and missed three good chances.

"Cinderford came out and nicked a goal after half-time which galvanised them massively and meant we had to chase the game, as a draw was no good to us really.

"This meant we left ourselves open and didn't play with the same rhythm as in the first half.

"Goals change games and no better example of that than tonight.

"Well done to Cinderford though, no doubt over the season they have been the most consistent team.

"We're disappointed that we weren't clinical tonight but we've given the title a real push until the penultimate game, which is another improvement on last year and we now need to focus on Saturday and then the play-offs."

The Peacocks travel to second-place Banbury United on Saturday aiming to seal the runners-up spot and home advantage in next week's play-offs.
