TAUNTON Town chairman Kevin Sturmey has appealed to the Taunton public to come out in force and help the side towards the promised land on Saturday.

He commented: “We are planning for a big crowd and it would be great to top 1,000 so I am urging Taunton people to come and support their local team to help us make the First Round proper for only the second time in our history.”

The club have secured Moorfields (opposite the YMCA) for overspill parking as well as Blackbrook Surgery but they urge people to get to the Viridor Stadium earlier than normal.

The turnstiles, bar and kitchen will all open at 1pm and, despite the importance of the game and the cost involved in staging it, they should be applauded for keeping admission at just £8 with concessions at £6, Under-19s £3 and Under-14s free.

Manager Leigh Robinson was naturally in buoyant mood after Saturday saying: “A good day at the office and some more vital prize money secured.

‘I thought we were pretty good today and created numerous chances and bonuses were no injuries, Jordan rested up and no midweek game so we can prepare a little better.”
