Somerset County Premier
Wrington Redhill 2, Staplegrove 4
GROVE keeper Lloyd Alley was the star of this frenetic match as his side picked up three more points.
The visitors were 3-0 up at the break but Alley pulled off a string of fine saves as this very watchable game ebbed and flowed.
Against the run of play, Grove took the lead on 25 minutes, Dave Ryan connecting with an Alexis Piper cross.
Ten minutes later, Carl Edwards popped up to extend their lead and he was again on target with 40 minutes gone.
Alley was again called on after the break, saving well from Liam Knight, Luke Patten and Mike Rowcliffe.
Piper extended the lead on the hour to surely give Grove the points.
But Wrington Redhill were not finished and finally beat Alley through Lee White with 15 minutes to go and Patten four minutes from time.
Chris Bradley’s added time ‘goal’ was disallowed for offside and the Grove celebrated another cavalier victory.
- On Saturday, Staplegrove entertain Uphill Castle in the Premier/Division 1 Cup (ko 2pm).
