TAUNTON Town aim to reach the Somerset Premier Cup final tonight, as they take on Keynsham Town in the last four (ko 7.45pm).

The semi-final takes place at Crown Fields, home of Toolstation Western League First Division side Keynsham, who knocked out the Peacocks' league fellows Paulton Rovers in the previous round.

Taunton will be looking to get back to winning ways after two successive defeats in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West, as injuries and suspensions have made their impact felt away to Larkhall Athletic and Evesham United.

Jordan Rogers is available again after a two-game ban and is set to start up front, with fellow striker Matt Wright being given further recovery time for the neck injury which has limited his playing time this month.

Midfielders Shane White and Ollie Chamberlain are also likely to be rested after taking knocks at Evesham on Saturday, with Matt Buse also picking up an injury.

In defence, Owen Irish serves the second of his three-game ban after seeing red at Larkhall, while Alex Hoyle has sustained an injury and Ben Palmer is cup-tied, having played for Bridgwater Town earlier in the competition.

The absences represent an opportunity for younger development players to step up as they have done previously in the Peacocks' cup run.

Charlie Melvin-Sparks, Tom Stone, Billy Greene, Rhys Ford and Kye Toogood will all be vying for some game time tonight.

Taunton have reached this stage in the competition by defeating Odd Down in the second round, winning 5-4 on penalties after a 4-4 draw, and overcoming Clevedon Town 3-1 in the quarter-finals last month, their goals coming from Michael Meaker, Craig Veal and Ross Staley.

The Peacocks last won the Premier Cup in 2014/15, being knocked out in the first round by Wells City last season.
