TAUNTON racegoers look set for great national hunt action tomorrow (Thursday) when the Orchard Portman course hosts their Lifeboats Go Racing Day, where the first race goes to post at 2pm, writes Richard Walsh.
With good going and 59 runners declared, all the leading trainers including Paul Nicholls, Nicky Henderson, Philip Hobbs, Alan King, David Pipe, Nicky Henderson, Colin Tizzard and Jonjo O’Neill have horses running.
In addition to this, leading jockeys Sam Twiston-Davies, Nick Schofield, Daryl Jacobs, Jamie Moore and Noel Fehily are all booked to ride.
The feature race, which is worth £6,330 to the winner, is the Vine Wine Taunton RNLI Handicap Chase over three and a half miles which goes to post at 4.45pm.
The fancied horse in this Class 3 event is likely to be Bertie Boru from the Hobbs yard ridden by Tom O’Brien.
