FOOTBALLERS in the Taunton & District Saturday League will have to watch their words in the coming season or risk spending 10 minutes on the sidelines.
The league is one of 32 across the country, which also includes the Devon & Exeter League, to be trialling sin-bins as part of a new FA initiative to try and improve respect towards referees.
Only yellow cards awarded for dissent will result in players being sent to the sidelines, with other bookings remaining unaffected, though given dissent amounted to 25% of all cautions shown across grassroots football last season the new move could have a substantial impact on matches.
