SOMERSET skipper Jim Allenby is a doubt for tomorrow's T20 Blast quarter-final at Nottinghamshire after picking up a hand injury.

The 34-year-old sustained the knock in last Friday's thumping win against Hampshire which secured qualification, and now faces a late fitness test to determine whether he will feature at Trent Bridge.

If he fails to prove his fitness, Lewis Gregory will captain the side while Tom Abell and Eddie Byrom are among the options to replace the skipper in the batting line-up.

Ryan Davies has also been added to the squad as cover, but his namesake Steve is likely to retain his place as he looks to improve having registered four ducks in his last five T20 innings.

The Somerset squad is as follows: Jim Allenby (c), Steve Davies, Lewis Gregory (VC), Johann Myburgh, Peter Trego, James Hildreth, Tom Abell, Eddie Byrom, Roelof van der Merwe, Craig Overton, Dom Bess, Michael Leask, Tim Groenewald, Paul van Meekeren, Max Waller, Ryan Davies.

See tomorrow's County Gazette for a full match preview as well as an exclusive interview with Johann Myburgh.
