FA National Cup
Swansea District Schools 4, Taunton District Schools 2

TAUNTON District Schools Under-13s travelled to face their Swansea counterparts, the match taking place on the superb Llandarcy Academy Sport pitch.

The hosts began well, and with the inexperienced away side leaving gaps in defence and quickly falling 2-0 behind.

But Taunton showed attacking potential themselves, and Adam Willis found skipper Lewis Smith on the edge of the box to fire past the keeper and make it 2-1.

Will Cooper, Tyler Barrett and Will Varney were introduced and brought greater stability, while goalkeeper Hawkins made a couple of good saves.

The visitors were therefore disappointed to concede just before half time, as Swansea intercepted a stray pass and raced upfield to make it 3-1 at the break.

Taunton made further changes in the second half, and they were proving a real handful for the home side.

Archie Clark went through on the goalkeeper, and although the ball ricocheted off the two players, Gabriel Billington was following up, and scored well from a tight angle.

The visitors pushed for an equaliser, and came close to finding one, but again they were caught on the break as Swansea sealed the match.

Taunton man of the match: Will Cooper.
