Evo-Stik Southern League West
Swindon Supermarine 2, Taunton Town 3
DAN Sullivan scored the winner on just his second appearance for Taunton Town, as the Peacocks ended Swindon Supermarine’s unbeaten start to the league season.
The visitors began well and indeed dominated the first half, scoring twice.
Captain Matt Wright netted from Shane White’s corner on 28 minutes, before Ollie Chamberlain made it 2-0 just before the interval.
The midfielder flicked a throw-in past the flat-footed goalkeeper, and headed into an empty net.
But that good work seemed all for nought, as the hosts brought it back to 2-2 within 15 minutes of the restart.
First, Brad Hooper scores a penalty on 49 minutes after a foul on Selman, and TJ Bohane equalised in the 60th minute after a mishit shot wrong-footed the Taunton defence.
But five minutes later the away side were back ahead, as Sullivan - their recent acquisition from Tavistock - finished off a fine passing move.
That seemed to finally break the hosts’ spirit, allowing league leaders Taunton to hold on for three precious points - their best result of the season so far.
Taunton Town: Lloyd Irish, Pierce Mitchell, Ross Staley, Shane White, Brett Trowbridge (Chris McGrath), Ben Adelsbury, Ollie Chamberlain, Ryan Brett, Matt Wright (c), Dan Sullivan, Omar Simpson (Les Afful).
