WELLINGTON AFC have this season taken on board an open age disability group, who will be playing in the Somerset Ability Counts League that caters for teams from across the county.

The club have entered two teams into Divisions 2 and 3, and played their first fixtures two weekends ago - with better than expected results, given it is their first season in the league.

The Division 2 team currently sit top of the table, having won each of their four league matches so far, scoring 19 goals and conceding just one in the process.

The Division 3 team have also made a good start, having played seven, won four, drawn two and lost one.

There are three Somerset FA Ability Counts leagues overall, with 19 teams battling it out across the divisions.

Wellington’s in-form teams have further games on Sunday, November 12, at Strode College, Street; Sunday, December 10 at South Bristol Sports Centre, Bristol; Sunday, February 4, at Worle; Sunday, February 25, at Strode College (People’s Cup Heats); Sunday, March 11 at Strode College, Street; Sunday, April 15, at Bucklers Mead Academy, Yeovil.

Any new players interested in joining the club should attend training, which takes place on Monday evenings between 6pm and 7pm at Queen’s College, Trull Road, Taunton.
