WELLINGTON AFC were without a scheduled match on Saturday in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division, while Minehead AFC, Staplegrove and Watchet Town saw their Somerset County League matches postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
Bishops Lydeard were in action, however, and they pulled off a fine result, winning 5-1 away to Bristol Telephones in the Toolstation Western League First Division.
Goals from Ben Hebditch (2), Mark Clunie, Jordan Lovibond and Jake Quick left their hosts hung up, and took Lydeard up to 10th place in what is a very congested mid-table battle.
Their next match is away to basement side Portishead Town, this Saturday, with a 3pm kick-off.
