TAUNTON Town's home match with Wimborne Town, scheduled for tonight, has been called off for the fourth time.
The fixture had already been postponed three times, the first due to a clash with the Peacocks' FA Trophy run and the second two because of waterlogged pitches.
The fourth attempt to play the game has now met with the same fate, after heavy rain caused the Viridor Stadium pitch to fail a 12.45pm pitch inspection.
Taunton chairman Kevin Sturmey told the County Gazette that the pitch was playable last night, but the rain had left it 90 per cent waterlogged this afternoon.
That means that the Peacocks - who are on a run of 19 games unbeaten, and 12 points clear at the top of the Evo-Stik Southern League West table - will hope to return to action this Saturday, at home to ninth-placed Swindon Supermarine (ko 3pm).
Taunton Town and the Somerset County Gazette have paired up to offer discounted entry to Saturday's match (£5 for adults, £3 concessions and £1 Under-18s) - available with a voucher available in this week's County Gazette.
