TAUNTON Town were left frustrated as their scheduled match at Barnstaple Town - given the go-ahead this afternoon - was called off just over an hour before kick-off.

Their hosts had declared that the match would go ahead just after 3pm this afternoon, but a flurry of snow shortly before the 7.45pm start led to the game being postponed.

Barnstaple's Twitter account added that the situation was out of the club's control, and that they followed league protocol.

However, this inevitably led to frustration for Taunton players and fans who had travelled to Devon for the match.

Tonight's abandonment means that the Peacocks' next scheduled match is at home to Slimbridge on Saturday (ko 3pm), should the weather permit that game at the Viridor Stadium, Taunton, to go ahead.
