TAUNTON & Pickeridge Golf Club will be hoping for better weather this weekend when they hold their season-opening Captains’ Drive-In on Saturday.

Among the quartet of incoming captains who will be teeing off together at 1pm on Saturday will be Bailey Langford, the Junior Captain, who, even at the tender age of 14, is already playing off a handicap of 6.

The 14-year-old, who attends Heathfield School, has grown up through the highly successful T&P Junior system and this coming year will be representing Somerset Under-16s.

Langford’s two vice-captains - Charlie Hooper, who plays off 5 and also represents Somerset Under-16s, and Kyle Miller - will be playing earlier in the morning on Saturday.

On Sunday, Langford and Hooper will be representing Taunton & Pickeridge Men’s A Team.

The Junior Section short game challenge will be starting this Saturday and will take place once a month until September.
