PROMISING Taunton Titans forward Dan Frost has joined Championship side Cornish Pirates on a one-year deal.

Frost, who can play at hooker or flanker, joined the Pirates midway through the 2017/18 season and impressed, picking up the Tribute player of the month award for December.

The 21-year-old made his Titans debut in September 2015 and played 17 times for Taunton this season, scoring 10 tries in the process, having touched down 18 times during the previous campaign and also picked up three man-of-the-match awards.

Frost also represented Exeter Braves - the Exeter Chiefs 2nd XV - last year, scoring a hat-trick in one of his appearances, and looks set for a bright future.

Taunton Titans have also announced their award winners for the most recent campaign, who are as follows:

Press Writers’ Player of the Season - Aron Struminski

Aron, like the team, started the season on fire, with eight tries in the first five games as the Titans swept all before them early on.

In the tougher months that followed he remained a consistent, jet-heeled presence on the wing and a regular try scorer, helping the side pick up several try bonus points along the way.

Oli Massingham Supporters’ Player of the season - Nick Mason

For the third season in a row, Titans captain Nick Mason got the supporters’ vote for the player of the season.

The club captain has once again led from the front and has been complimented by several head coaches for the way he manages the team on the field, which has obviously been evident from the stands as well.

As the club has organised for Nick to play in New Zealand during the summer to allow him to expand his rugby repertoire, as well as gain some great life experiences on the way, his award was presented to his girlfriend in his absence.

Most Improved Player of the Season - Andy England

A second row who has broken into the Titans starting XV from the second team and has claimed 13 appearances this season.

He has gone from strength to strength as he finds his feet, and will hopefully push on during the summer.

Coaches’ Player of the Season - Connor Baker

Another one of the New Zealand trio, Connor joined the club from the division below in the summer, impressed the coaches straight away with his fitness and attitude in pre-season, and has now re-written the mode for a prop at Taunton.

Once he started to play he began to get plaudits from his peers and opposition as a small, no-nonsense, powerful prop forward.

As the games went past he gained in confidence and became one of the first names on the team sheet.

Players’ Player of the Season - Ollie Rice

OLLIE joined the club from Exmouth and his versatility within the backs has certainly added to the potent attack of the Titans.

Although diminutive in stature he always seems to break the first tackle and make yards where it doesn’t seem possible.

He scored six tries in one game and 17 in total for the season, to be the top try scorer for the Titans.
