DOM Bess and Jack Leach both took wickets as England completed a 253-run victory over India A at New Road in Worcester.
Having posted 423 in their first innings and dismissed India for 197, England declared on 194-5.
Having been 0-2 at the start of their second innings, India made their way past the 100-run mark thanks to Ajinkya Rahane (48) and Rishabh Pant (61).
Both dangermen were removed by Bess, however, and Leach then had Jayant Yadav (21) caught by Jamie Porter.
The India innings came to a halt on 167-9 (Ankit Rajpoot being injured), to give England Lions the win.
Bess ended the innings with figures of 2-43 off eight overs, and Leach 1-13 off two.
Bess and Leach will look to be involved - and continue their wicket-taking form - against Worcestershire on Sunday, as Somerset travel up for their first County Championship match since the last week of June.
