SOMERSET go in search of a third straight Vitality Blast victory as they welcome struggling Essex to the Cooper Associates County Ground tonight (Friday).

The hosts have been in good form of late, following up a win over Middlesex on Sunday before a 16-run triumph over Hampshire on Wednesday, while Essex slipped to the foot of the South Group table after their 28-run defeat at Kent last night.

Somerset have named an unchanged squad for the match, though opening batsmen Johann Myburgh and Steve Davies - both of whom are averaging under 17 in the tournament so far - are under pressure from young prospect Tom Banton.

Essex's top run scorer in the competition so far is Varun Chopra, with 251 in seven innings, while Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa is one to watch - he has taken 11 scalps at 13.55 with an impressive economy rate of 6.77.

The visitors also have Jamie Porter available after the paceman, who was named in England's 13-man Test squad to face India, did not make the final XI.
