Holloway fires Crusaders


TAUNTON Deane Crusaders enjoyed a 65-run win over Over Stowey I in Division Two of the West Somerset League on Saturday.

R. Holloway (57 not out) and J. Catlin (52) set them on the way to a total of 168-7, with B. Buller claiming 3-22 for Stowey.

Crusaders' S. Nelson took 5-25 and J. Cook 4-21 as Stowey were bowled out for 103 in reply.

Elsewhere in Division Two, Holford (117) eased to victory over Hinkley Point (46) thanks to J S.Sherwin's knock of 61.

The games between Cannington and West Monkton, Casuals and Lydeard St Lawrence I, and Timberscombe and Wiveliscombe were cancelled.

In Division One, Stogumber I racked up 281-7 against Carhampton, Dane Gilbert hitting 151 not out. Adam Mills took 3-67 for Carhampton.

Mike Sherring hit 51 of Carhampton's total of 86 in reply.

Toby Gilbert (4-48) and Danny Barnes were among the wickets for Stogumber.

Brompton Ralph I scored 173-7 to beat Winsford, with T. Gill (69) largely to thank.

E. Hoskins took 3-48 for Winsford, who were then all out for 113, R Hake claiming 6-27.

S. Hayes struck 54 for Roadwater (124-4), who fell to defeat against Dulverton I (126-8) while Morebath (111-8) lost to Crowcombe I (112-2).

In Division Three, Craig Lawton posted exceptional figures of 9-13 as Blagdon Hill clattered Ashbrittle out for 25 in a ten-wicket win.

Bishop's Hull, Minehead and Taunton A were also triumphant in that division.

Brompton Ralph II, Fitzhead, Stogumber II, North Newton and Stoke St Gregory won in Division Four while the Division Five victors were Churchinford, Lydeard St Lawrence and Middlezoy, with two cancellations.
