Taunton Town host Didcot Town in the Evo-Stik League on Saturday — kick-off 3pm — hoping to avenge one of their heaviest defeats of this season back in December.

It was an afternoon to forget for the Peacocks who suffered a 5-1 loss and had two players dismissed.

Taunton can finish no higher than 15th position this season, but chairman Kevin Sturmey believes it is important to try and win the final three fixtures.

"It has been a challenging season and results have often been disappointing, although performances sometimes justified a better result, for instance our most recent game at Bideford,” he said.

“We only have pride to play for in our last three matches but I would like to see us end the season with nine points to give us a confidence boost to take into August."

Manager Paul West should have a full squad to select from apart from the unavailable Peter Knox and long term injury victims Darren Rice and Ross MacNab.

Taunton held visiting Mangotsfield to a 1-1 draw on Saturday at home, while narrowly lost 1-0 at Bideford on Monday, a result which confirmed their hosts as Evo-Stik Division One S&W champions.
