VIVARY Golf Club senior Dave Beale proved he was as confident a golfer with three clubs as he is with a full set when he won the Two Clubs and a Putter competition a week after he took the Ray Ingram Stableford using all his clubs.

He won the Ingram on count-back with 38 points from Bob Stock with Dave Hinton third among four players on 36. He then went on to show his versatility by scoring 36 in the restricted club competition and beat Viv Axford on count-back. Dave Hinton was again third among four players one point behind.

Hinton however, came to the fore in the Seniors Multiplier when he and his partner Stuart Trott recorded a substantial 77 points, four ahead of John Blissitt and Pete Jeffery who were second and nine in front of third placed Bob Ingram and Terry Smith.

The Seniors’ spring outing to Stover was played by 28 members in glorious sunshine and it proved fitting that the newly elected Senior’s captain Gerald Weaver should gather a sound 36 points and win the trophy he had recently donated to the club. Second and third on count-back with 32 points were respectively, John Blissitt and the ubiquitous Dave Hinton.

The April Medal, played in cold and damp conditions, saw Jack Law win with a nett 67 one stroke less than Phil Nicholls who was second on count-back from John Troke.
