Minehead maintained their position at the top of the Taunton Under-13 11-a-side league with a five wicket victory over Taunton St Andrews on Sunday.

Saints made 46, a total Minehead passed with five overs to spare.

Minehead skipper Jordan Baker had asked Saints to bat first and his decision immediately paid off as swing bowler Jamie Savage ripped through the top order taking 3-5 in his four overs.

Saints found themselves reeling at 14-3 after seven overs and the press was maintained by off-spinner Joe Ferris (2-2) as wickets continued to fall at regular intervals.

Minehead soon lost Baker for a rare duck and his dismissal seemed to unsettle the Minehead side as they slumped to 23-4.

But stand-in opener Elliott Binding held firm with 15 not out to guide his side to victory.
