SOMERSET lost to Worcestershire by 54 runs in the FlT20 this afternoon.

It was their second crushing defeat in three days following the nine wicket reverse at the hands of Gloucestershire on Friday.

Chasing Worcestershire's total of 173-7, the Cidermen could only manage 119 in 19.1 overs in reply.

Richard Levi (28 in 23 balls) and Kevin O'Brien (22 in 23), saw Somerset to 51-2 in the seventh over.

But once their second wicket stand was broken the next seven overs produced just 34 runs for the loss of five wickets and the chase was effectively over.

Pick of the Worcestershire bowlers were David Lucas (2-9 in 3), Daryl Mitchell (3-13 in four) and Brett D'Oliveira.

D'Oliveira, the 20-year-old grandson of England legend Basil D'Oliveira, took 3-20 in four overs of leg spin.
