GOLF: Keitch and Co lift Colin Newton Trophy

DAN Keitch, Kevin Lewis and Frank Penny teamed up to win the Colin Newton Trophy at Taunton Vale Golf Club with 77.

Two teams ended on 75, however after countback it was club captain Simon Gough, Alan Parker and Brian Davis who edged in front of Richard New, Mark Bushen and Barry George.

Paul Littlejohns with 67 was the winner of Division One of the June Monthly Medal, one ahead of Pete Scarratt, with Frank Penny third on 71.

Two players headed Division Two with 67 but after countback it was Tim Salter who was the winner ahead of Mike Saffin, while Ian Littlejohns was third with 68. Countback was needed to sort out the top two in Division Three after which it was Jason Madden who was first ahead of Paul Hewton.

Daniel Green was a point behind with 70.

Mike Bright with 42 points came out on top in Division One of the June Running Stableford.

That was two better than Wayne Davey, while Mike Bright claimed third spot with 37.

Darren Walker with 43 points headed Division Two, five better than Graham Coles. Angie Warnes and Anne George were the winners of the Joy Atkinson Trophy with 43 points.
