SOMERSET’s confidence could not be higher as they prepare to entertain Essex in the quarter-finals of the Friends Life T20 at the County Ground tomorrow at 4.15pm.

On Saturday they recovered from a losing position to beat Warwickshire in the County Championship, Gemaal Hussain taking 5-48 and Craig Kieswetter scoring a brilliant 152.

Then on Sunday Kieswetter scored another century - this time 103 - as the Cidermen crushed Durham by eight wickets in the CB40.

Durham scored just 147 and Somerset reached their target with almost 20 overs to spare.

Club skipper Marcus Trescothick, who is recovering well from an ankle injury, was named in the 13 man squad for the Durham game but failed to make the 11.
