Wellington 2nd XI lost ground in their push to win Division Four of the Somerset League when they lost to mid-table side Kilve by 24 runs.

Kilve lost their openers for 18, but Lloyd with 56 and Stone with a fine 98 reacted to losing a third wicket at 33 with a 150 run fourth wicket stand.

Adrian Lee with 3-38 in 12 overs and Sam Murdock with 2-21 in 10 overs bowled very well for Wellington, but the support attack was a little expensive and Kilve reached 228-8.

Wellington chased the 229 required hard, Aks Latifi leading the way with 106 including six sixes.

Trevor Brooks with 22 and Darren Davis with 18 lent good support, but wickets were always being lost and this cost Wellington in the end as they were dismissed for 204.

Clemenson with 5-48 in 12 overs was Kilve's best bowler.
