RAIN prevented all but eight overs of play on the first day of Somerset's County Championship match with Nottinghamshire at the County Ground today.

In that time the visitors reached 18-1, with Pete Trego taking the wicket of Rikki Wessels with the final delivery of the day.

Abdur Rehman, the Pakistani spinner, is making his debut for the Ciderman.
