FORMER Yeovil Town defender Steven Caulker has been selected for the full England international squad to face Italy in a friendly next week.

Caulker, still only 20, made 46 appearances with the Glovers in the 2009-10 season while on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

The youngster has continued to make big strides in his development and recently featured for Team GB in the Olympics.

Now he has been given the call-up from senior England boss Roy Hodgson.

The news will be welcomed by Yeovil fans who quickly realised that a big future awaited Caulker while he was at Huish Park with him putting in a string of mature and assured performances, despite him being aged just 17.
