Hyde Park to host Veterans Aid Charity match

THE annual Veterans Aid Charity rugby match between Taunton Select and a RLC representative team kicks-off at Hyde Park at 7.30pm on Wednesday, August 29.

Captain Rich, of the Royal Logistics Corp, is bringing Army Champions (RLC) and members of the Corps champions, 17 Port & Maritime Regt RLC (The Dolphins) squad, to compete against a strong Taunton 2nd and 3rd XV Select team managed by Russ Gibson and Ben Goddard.

The charity match for the VAC Shield has proved a popular event with spectators in past years and has been hotly contested between Taunton and the RLC Representative squad.

Admission on the night is just £5 with proceeds going to the Veterans Aid Charity and Taunton Junior rugby. Bar and refreshments will be available from 6.30pm.
