NETBALL: Last-gasp effort saves Galmington
GALMINGTON started the new South West Regional League season with an enthralling 40-40 draw against Crossbow in Bristol.
With Lauren-Jade Griffiths playing excellently in defence Galmington matched Crossbow in the third quarter but still trailed by three goals going into the final period.
With three minutes left Crossbow’s lead had increased to four goals but Galmington pressed hard to reduce the deficit to just a single goal with less than a minute on the clock.
A crucial interception from captain Becky Squire allowed Galmington to draw level with seconds left.
