THERE was a three way tie on 38 points at the head of Division One of the Bill Knowles Trophy Stableford competition at Taunton Vale Golf Club which attracted almost 100 entrants.

However after countback it was Jon West who took the honours after countback over the back nine from Mike Bright, while Tim Salter, who also scored 38 points was third.

Graham Coles headed the second division, and was also the overall winner of the Bill Knowles Trophy after returning with 42 points, one ahead of Mark Bushen with 41 who was second with Andy Steed third on 39.

Robin Knight with 40 points was the winner in Division Three, Darren Cornish was second with 37 while Adrian Lee was third after countback with 36.

Three players returned with 69 at the top of Division One of Sunday's Medal round but after countback it was Chris Pratt who was the winners, closely followed by Mark Bushen who was second and Neil Hallett third.

Chris Sealey headed the second division with 67, one ahead of second placed Richard Rosslyn while James Luton was third with 69.

Kevin Parker was the winner of the Summer Scratch competition ahead of Ron Brown.

n Former Oake Manor Golf Club captain Neil Mossman has finally won a pro-am team competition after a series of second places and near misses.

The sponsor of the annual West Region PGA Total Triumph Classic at Oake Manor headed the field in the 54-hole South Wales Festival at Ashburnham, Machynys Peninsular and Pyle and Kenfig.
