WATCHET made a disappointing start to their indoor season when they lost 87-66 against St Andrews of Weston-Super- Mare in the preliminary round of the Egham Trophy.

Watchet’s away rinks had mixed fortunes, the morning away rink won quite convincingly but the afternoon one lost by 28 shots. The home two rinks were fairly tight.

Scores: home: G Martin, C Simcock, S Steel, A Rendell drew 20-20; Jack Groves, Nell Groves, P Perkins and C Bruford lost 12-19. Away: B Lynam, P Cozens, N Savage and P Tregidigo won 24-10; C Bendle, P Christopher, R Somerfield and I Trunks lost 10-38.
