ARUL Suppiah, who made his debut for the Cidermen in 2002, has been awarded a well-deserved benefit by the county for 2013.

The 29-year-old right handed batsman and slow left-arm bowler made his first team debut for the county in 2002 in the tied game against West Indies A at Taunton.

Since then he has played in 94 first class games in which he has scored over 5000 runs at an average of 33.95, with a career best of 156.

In addition Suppiah has enjoyed some impressive returns with his bowling.

He and holds the world record for the best bowling in T20 cricket after claiming six wickets for five runs against Glamorgan in Cardiff in 2011.
