TAUNTON Titans head up to picturesque Henley-on-Thames tomorrow for their toughest game to date this season when they take on the unbeaten league leaders, Henley Hawks.

Titans will have to be at their best to get anything from the game, especially as a number of players took heavy knocks in the victory over Dings Crusaders last weekend and are doubts for the game.

Winger Olly Massy-Birch and back rower Ben King both came off with injuries in that match while prop Jake Woolmore pulled up in training.

However despite the injuries head coach Tony Yapp is still looking forward to the challenge.

He said: “In a funny way it’s nice to go into the game not as the favourites. It gives us a slightly different challenge.

“Henley are a very good side that are well coached and very organised.

“They have quality players right throughout the side and play a very attacking style of rugby, so we’re really going to have be at our best defensively to deny them to many opportunities to score.

“This week we’ll work very hard as a squad on a game plan that we feel can give us the best chance to come away with some points.

“It’s going to be tough but we are really looking forward to challenging ourselves against the best team in our league.”

On the plus side for Titans, backs Jack Faulkner and Mark Schofield both came through 80 minutes of rugby after their injuries.

It has been a long time coming for full-back Schofield who joined the Titans last season from National 1 side Esher but has yet to put on a Titans jersey as his knee injury has taken longer than expected to heal.

The kick-off will be later than normal at 4pm due to the game between England and New Zealand at Twickenham.
